150 Gala

Celebrating 150 years

The IRFU 150th Anniversary Season will take place throughout the 2024 / 25 season, which is a hugely significant milestone in the history of Irish Rugby. We will be running a number of events which bring together past and present rugby communities, across all four provinces, to celebrate the sport’s standing at local and national levels.

The 150 Gala Dinner

As part of our celebrations, the IRFU will host a 150th Anniversary Gala Dinner on Friday, 29th November 2024, which will raise funds to support our 150th Anniversary programme together with the IRFU Charitable Trust.

The theme of this dinner is to celebrate all that rugby has achieved in Ireland over the past 150 years and a core part of that is Grand Slam success on the field. We are delighted to confirm Brian O’Driscoll (2009), Fiona Coghlan (2013), Rory Best (2018), and Jonathan Sexton (2023), our four living Grand Slam Winning Captains, will all play a part on the night.
