Clubs On Board With RugbyConnect

A general view of Portlaoise RFC

Over 200 rugby clubs are up and running on RugbyConnect – the IRFU’s New Online Administration System For Clubs.

RugbyConnect was launched in July as a way of helping club volunteers to manage player registration, safeguarding and competition administration all on one platform.

Player registration was a priority in the initial rollout and all clubs with adult teams are now on the system.

In the wake of the pandemic, functionality was also added to help clubs track player attendance and the completion of Pre-Rugby Personal Assessment Declarations to help with the safe running of training activities.

The system also manages team sheets, transfers, dual and loan player functionality.

RugbyConnect was launched under the stewardship of project lead Carolyn O’Connor with IRFU Systems & Data Officer Lucy Mulhall now also working on the project.  The Ireland Women 7s captain says clubs are already benefiting.

“Clubs have really embraced the platform” Mulhall told IrishRugby.ie.

“RugbyConnect is about reducing the amount of admin time required to run a rugby club.

“Volunteers want to be free to focus on the rugby experience and keeping players engaged. We will continue to evolve the functionality of the system but it’s already serving to make volunteer time more efficient for active clubs.
