Vodafone Ireland Launches #TeamOfUs Shirt Swap

Vodafone Ireland Launches #TeamOfUs Shirt Swap

To celebrate Vodafone Ireland’s inaugural year as the new official sponsors of the Irish Rugby team, Ireland’s leading total communications provider has teamed up with former Ireland stars Donncha O’Callaghan and Eoin Reddan to launch the Vodafone #TeamOfUs Shirt Swap.

Kicking off this Saturday (October 15), Vodafone customers* can swap their old Irish rugby jerseys to get 50% off the brand new Ireland home jersey by simply dropping off their old jersey at any Vodafone store nationwide*. Numbers are limited, so fans are encouraged to act fast to avoid disappointment.

Donncha O’Callaghan and Eoin Reddan were on hand to man the Vodafone #TeamOfUs Swap Shop today in Dublin city centre. Fans exchanged their old jerseys for the current version in the custom built Swap Shop, which was decked out in retro rugby memorabilia, with a built-in museum.

The team will wear the jersey when Ireland take on New Zealand in a momentous fixture in Soldier Field, Chicago, on Saturday, November 5.

Speaking today, Vodafone Head of Brand Anne Mulcahy said: “As proud sponsors of the Irish Rugby team, Vodafone is delighted to launch the #TeamOfUs Shirt Swap, which offers Vodafone customers a 50% discount on the new Ireland jersey. #TeamOfUs is inspired by each and every person who contributes to the Irish team, be it through playing or support.

“The Irish Rugby team brings the whole country together, and we want to drive support for the team ahead of the GUINNESS Series. Fans are central to the success of the team, so we wanted to help them show their support by kitting them out in the same jerseys as the players.”

Former Ireland lock Donncha O’Callaghan added: “There is so much more to a team than the 15 players on the pitch, and it makes a huge difference for the players to see a sea of green when they take to the field. I know that everyone has an old Ireland jersey lying around at home that they could swap for one of the new jerseys, so I would encourage fans to root them out and show support for the team.”

Vodafone were revealed as the main sponsors of the Irish Rugby team in June of this year, and launched ‘Team of Us’, the brand’s marketing platform for the sponsorship.

‘Team of Us’ is inspired by the importance of the collective in Irish Rugby. We are at our strongest not when working as individuals but as a team.

That team includes the 15 players on the pitch, but also their support network of coaches, doctors, physios, backroom staff, families and friends and of course the six million fans on the island of Ireland that come together to support Irish rugby. Together, we are all part of the ‘Team of Us’.
