Buccs And Braidmen To Light Up AIB League
Buccaneers will meet Ballymena in AIB League Division one this weekend and following an increasing trend, the game will be played under floodlights with a 6.30pm kick-off.
Floodlit rugby has always had an appeal and one club well equipped to host a game under lights is Buccaneers.
Their floodlit grounds at Dubarry Park play host to the Ireland Under-20 internationals on a regular basis. This Saturday, however, will see Buccaneers host Ballymena in the AIB League.
With Munster kicking off against Clermont Auvergne in the afternoon you can watch the crucial European clash on the big screens at the club as a ‘curtain raiser’ to the AIB League clash.
Ballymena are currently fifth in the Division One table and Buccaneers lie in thirteenth place but with only five points separating them, this promises to be a tough game.
The new format for AIB League Division One next season will see the top eight finishers this season go into Division 1A, so the competition for those top-ranking places will really hot up in the coming months.
Get along to Dubarry Park on Saturday for a day of rugby action. Children under 14 years of age will get in free if accompanied by an adult.
Buccs are anticipating an entertaining game and are hopeful, especially if the weather remains kind, that a decent crowd will come along on Saturday night.
