Ireland Women Bring Home Silver From Seville

The Ireland Women enjoyed an unforgettable run at the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series leg in Seville, finishing as silver medal winners on the back of five wins out of six.

Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe starred as the tournament’s top try scorer with nine tries, while everyone from 18-year-old talent Erin King through to tireless captain Lucy Mulhall made a significant contribution.

Mulhall and her team-mates made history as they improved on last week’s fifth place finish in Malaga, which was their highest since Sydney in February 2019.

Ireland ran World Series leaders Australia agonisingly close in yesterday’s Cup final, losing out to a last-gasp try from Faith Nathan in a 17-12 defeat.
