Connacht Rugby are delighted to announce the release of ‘Grassroots’ – the latest film showcasing the province’s vision of ‘Grassroots To Green Shirts’.

‘Grassroots’ tells the story of who and what is behind the game of rugby in Connacht. It is the next installment of the original ‘Grassroots To Green Shirts’ film which was launched in May 2016 in conjunction with Connacht Rugby’s strategic plan.

The film shines a light on rugby at all grades and levels, profiling the support system and ‘unsung heroes’ who nurture and cultivate talent at grassroots level.

Its release comes ahead of Connacht’s GUINNESS PRO14 quarter-final against Ulster on Saturday, and is on the back of another successful year of ‘Grassroots To Green Shirts’ when Connacht natives Jack Carty and Beibhinn Parsons made their Ireland debuts having come through the Connacht Rugby system.

The film was shot in various locations around Connacht in early 2019 and was directed by award-winning Mayo native Lorcan Hynes, with narration from Dónall Ó Héalaí.
