The Energia Next-Gen Star of the Season will be crowned in Dublin on Sunday, May 5 as Energia strengthen their commitment to rugby as the official energy partner of the GUINNESS PRO14 final series.

Ahead of the most dramatic weeks in the PRO14 calendar, Energia will honour the most exciting young player from the Championship as they provide fresh energy to one of the competition’s most prestigious awards.

Formerly the Young Player of the Year award, the most recent recipients include international stars such as Energia brand ambassador Jordan Larmour, Joey Carbery, Sam Davies, Jonny Gray and Stuart Hogg. Voting is already underway with journalists, broadcasters, former players and coaches all having their say.

Energia’s return as a partner to the GUINNESS PRO14 final series underlines their commitment to rugby. Their sponsorship of current champions Leinster is helping to grow the game from grassroots to the elite level. Both Energia and the PRO14 have enjoyed great success over the past 12 months and this partnership aims to celebrate that vibrancy throughout all six games in the play-offs.

The action kicks off on Saturday week (May 4) with the quarter-finals taking place one day before the GUINNESS PRO14 Awards event in Dublin, where the Energia Next-Gen Star of the Season will add his name to an illustrious list of former winners.

Geoff Codd,
Head of Marketing & Retail Development for Energia, said: “We are delighted to be involved once again in the GUINNESS PRO14 final series which has established a reputation for high-energy, entertaining rugby. Our partnership with Leinster Rugby places a real focus on helping to power grassroots rugby and we’re thrilled to help deliver the Energia Next-Gen Star of the Season award which is a perfect fit for us.”

Dermot Rigley,
Commercial Director of PRO14 Rugby, added: “Energia were terrific final series partners in 2017 and it’s great to have them back on board as the biggest games of the season approach. Energia have shown a great commitment to rugby and have plenty of experience in match-day activations and providing genuine engagement with supporters.

“It’s been a terrific season both on and off the pitch for us, and with an historic final in Glasgow’s Celtic Park on Saturday, May 25, we know the best is yet to come.”
