Munster ‘A’ Make Five Changes For Yorkshire Carnegie Clash

Munster ‘A’ continue their British & Irish Cup campaign when they welcome Yorkshire Carnegie to Kinsale RFC on Friday (kick-off 8pm). In announcing the team, head coach Mick O’Driscoll has made five changes to the side that narrowly lost to London Scottish in round 1.

With the postponement of this weekend’s European Champions Cup game against Stade Francais in Paris, Friday’s B&I Cup fixture affords a number of players some game-time with Munster ‘A’.

Academy talent Rory Scannell takes over the captaincy from his brother Niall, while Argentinian international Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino will make his first appearance for Munster ‘A’ having made his debut for the province as a second half replacement against Benetton Treviso last weekend.

The only two changes to the pack are in the front row with John Ryan and Kevin O’Byrne coming in to join Mario Sagario. Billy Holland and Academy lock Sean McCarthy continue in the second row, with the back row trio of Jordan Coghlan, Sean Doyle and Shane Buckley also unchanged.

Cathal Sheridan and captain Scannell form a new half-back partnership with the latter’s Dolphin club-mate Cian Bohane and Clontarf’s Matt D’Arcy pairing up again in the centre.

Pumas star Gonzalez Amorosino starts on the right wing with Ronan O’Mahony and David Johnston continuing on the left wing and at full-back respectively.

Cashel clubman Sean O’Connor is again named among the replacements, while Ireland Club international and Old Belvedere hooker Ed Rossiter is named in a Munster ‘A’ matchday squad for the first time.
