Boyne v Midleton, Shamrock Lodge

This division is made up of teams who finished outside the top four in Division 2B last season so they will be very familiar with each other.

Boyne finished 13th last season while their visitors Midleton were unlucky to lose out in sixth place. Expect the Cork side to start the season stronger.

Dundalk v Bruff, Mill Road

Dundalk were all conquering in the Round Robin qualifying series last season and will want to set out their stall early.

Division 2C will be tough and the visit of Bruff will test their mettle. The visitors finished mid-table last season and will be stronger for it this time around.

Kanturk v Wanderers, Knocknacolan

12th versus 9th from last season’s Division 2B. The Dublin side won the corresponding game last season at Merrion Road, 25-20. It will be interesting to see who has improved this time around.

Navan v Sligo, Balreask Old

Navan finished in 11th place in Division 2B last erm, while Sligo were eighth overall – four points ahead of them.

Navan won this game by 35-13 on the road last year, however, and will be up for the challenge again in Balreask. A home win.

Tullamore v Old Crescent, Spollanstown

Tullamore are probably the unluckiest side in Division 2C having lost out on their Division 2B place by just three points.

Narrow margins make the difference and they lost this encounter last season by a single point. Old Crescent will be looking for a bright start and will want to repeat last season’s win.
