Volkswagen Tag Summer Leagues Almost Full
With Summer Leagues at many host clubs commencing in less than two weeks from now, leagues are being closed off as they reach capacity ahead of the 2015 season kicking off.
Volkswagen Tag places are at a premium in many host clubs even more so than last season.
An expanded list of Spring Leagues is now over the halfway mark with most teams taking part already signed up to the Summer stage of the season.
Autumn leagues already being planned to continue on from the action-packed Summer.
Registrations status as follows at the various venues (for info on venue, click on club name)
CONNACHT
– Galway Corinthians RFC (capacity 80 teams).
Limited places in both grading groups, with Beginners down to 3 x places.
– Sligo RFC (capacity 30 x teams)
4 x spaces left in both grades
LEINSTER
– Clontarf FC (capacity 24 teams)
18 spaces taken up. This time last year, 9 x spaces were taken.
– Donnybrook Stadium (with Old Wesley RFC – capacity 24 teams)
Brand NEW. 3 in C grade and 2 in Beginners grade left.
– Lansdowne FC (32 teams capacity)
FULL since end of March
– Malahide RFC (16 teams capacity)
Another NEW venue. 8 x teams in already and approximately
– Old Belvedere RFC (64 teams capacity)
2 x spaces left on Wednesdays/5 x spaces
– Suttonians RFC (24 teams capacity)
3 x spaces in Beginners and 4 in C grade left
– Tallaght RFC (12 teams capacity)
6 x spaces available
– Tullamore RFC (18 teams capacity)
3 x teams in but many queries being received
MUNSTER
– Ballincollig RFC (32 capacity)
Halfway there with 16 x teams signed up
ULSTER
– Belfast Harlequins RFC (68 teams capacity)
1 x place left in Thursday B Grade
With registrations as low as €;460 in some venues and still no higher than €;525 anywhere else, costs per player amount to no more than €;4 per week for the average team. This is unmatched anywhere else. Adding to this referees are coached and instructed by experienced referees from rugby’s governing body with it happening at actual rugby clubs, it is no wonder team numbers have increased upon this time last year.
