Ulster Bank Bateman Cup Semi-Finals Announced

Ulster Bank Bateman Cup Semi-Finals Announced

The draw for the semi-finals of the Ulster Bank Bateman (All-Ireland) Cup has been made. The Bateman Cup pits the four provincial cup winners against each other for the honour of claiming this venerated trophy, which was reinstated in recent seasons.

Last season’s beaten finalists Ballymena are back in contention, having captured the Ulster Senior Cup for the second year in-a-row.

They will be hoping to go one better this season but they will have to overcome Cork Constitution in the semi-finals if they are to reach the All-Ireland decider again.

Constitution booked their place in the final having won the Munster Cup with a 15-14 victory over UL Bohemians.

The other semi-final sees Connacht champions Galwegians take on last season’s Ulster Bank League champions St. Mary’s College.

The Galway side overcame city rivals Corinthians, while St. Mary’s defeated Lansdowne to book their place in the penultimate stage of the competition.

Both semi-final matches will take place on Saturday, January 19 with the final set for the weekend of April 27/28.
