Exiles Prepare For Annual Screening Camp

The annual Exiles Screening Camp gives young players who are eligible to lay for Ireland a chance to impress with their skills as well as offering advice to players and parents on making a career in professional rugby.

This year, the Exiles Screening Camp will be held at St. Mary’s University College in Twickenham. The annual event provides youngsters with a pathway to Irish rugby. Many eligible young players have gone on to represent Ireland at Under-18 level and beyond.

Selection for the 2010 Irish Exiles Screening Camp is now complete and invites have been sent out. This season has seen an unprecedented number of players apply to the Exiles and the quality has been particularly high.

Mark Blair, recently appointed as head of the Irish Exiles, was delighted with the response. He said: “We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who has shown their interest in the Exiles and we urge players to keep us informed of their progress next season.

“We are always delighted to receive new players into the Exiles and our rugby CV form can be downloaded from the website – www.irishrugby.ie/exiles.

“The Exiles are working closely with the IRFU to promote players into the Ireland system and for those Irish qualified create opportunities to play for, and in, Ireland.

“The Exiles door is never closed, so please do not hesitate to contact us.”
