Scorers: Cork Constitution: Tries: Richie Lane, Darragh Lyons; Pens: Richie Lane, Jeremy Manning
UL Bohemians: Pen: Cathal Sheridan

First half tries from full-back Darragh Lyons and winger Richie Lane set the tone for Cork Con in front of an 800-strong crowd.

Cathal Sheridan kicked UL into a fifth minute lead with a well-struck penalty, but it was all Constitution after that.

Lane levelled it up before making the break that led to Lyons’ try. Brian Walsh’s side continued to build pressure but found scores hard to come by.

They had to wait until the 38th minute to add to their tally, with a sweeping move sending Lane over in the corner after the Con pack had barged their way towards the posts.

UL Bohs came more into it in the final quarter, but replacement Jeremy Manning sealed the issue with a 78th minute penalty.

Con deserved the triumph, particularly for the performances of winger Cronan Healy and young flanker Peter O’Mahony who put in strong displays.
