Irish team captain Sarahjane Belton takes to the mic to discuss her side’s schedule over the next three weeks. Speaking of Ireland’s progression in a recent interview, the UL Bohemians and Munster star said: “I think part of the problem with the Irish team was that we hadn’t won and we didn’t know what it felt like to win. Gradually we’re beating more and more teams (Wales, Canada and Scotland this year) that we hadn’t beaten before.

“As the years have gone on everything has gotten more professional. We don’t have that status, or the luxury of that status, but we do everything professionally in so much as we can. That goes for the coaches, management, players – everything.

“The management have put as much in place as they can to take the burden off us. And that’s not just with the current set-up. Over the years everyone has strived to make things better. And gradually the standards set by previous managements and coaches have been taken and moved on.”
