Life’s a Beach for Bective Boys

The Bective Beach Boys are heading off to Italy to defend their International Beach Rugby Title. Some of them then fly on to Stockholm for a Tens – Life must be hard lads!

…The Bective Beach Boys will be defending their International Beach Rugby Title in Italy this month…

The Triple Crown, the Heineken Cup, the Celtic League, the Quaich, the Milennium Trophy – you might think the trophy cabinet was full; but there is more silverware to play for in July.

A group of Bective players – with a sprinkling from St. Mary’s, Lansdowne, Newbridge and Arklow Rugby clubs – are planning on bringing home some serious prizes from their two week rugby odyssey.

First up for the Bective Beach Boys is an International Beach Rugby competition in Lignano in Northern Italy (“Honestly dear the club asked me to go”).

The squad have competed three times in the Beach Tournament and won it twice, coming third on the other occassion. As defending Champions they are hoping to continue the success that Irish teams have had in winning silverware this season. For more on the Competition click here.

With the sand washed off and the flip flops packed they then move on to Sweden to take part in the Stockholm Tens. Last year 48 teams took part and the BBBs will be hoping to close their season with another victory against teams from around the world. For more on the Stockholm Tens click here.

IrishRugby.ie would like to wish Bective’s Paul Hatton and his two squads all the best. Paul has promised to keep our readers up to date with their progress.
