Teams Set For High King Tens

One of the most popular rugby festivals in Ireland, the Navan High King Tens, gets underway at Navan’s Balreask Old grounds tomorrow morning.
The ten-a-side event has been attracted clubs from around the country and overseas since its birth in 2001, and this year is no different. Newstalk 106 host and RTE rugby pundit George Hook will kick-off the 2005 festival as guest speaker at tonight’s annual dinner.
Action on the field begins tomorrow and Sunday morning at 11am, with a number of teams availing of camping facilities at the club, as well as guest houses in the area. Tomorrow afternoon will see a veterans match take place between a Navan Select XV and a St Mary’s College XV, while in the evening, popular band Revolate will perform in the clubhouse.
Both of last year’s senior and junior men’s champions, St Mary’s College and Naas, are back to defend their titles. Regisration for participating clubs takes place from 9.30am-10.30am on both days.

Maxol Junior Men’s Section: Cavan, Clondalkin, Coolmine, Enniskillen, Exiles, Garda, Naas, Navan, Newbridge I, Newbridge II, Rathdrum, Young Guns
Powerade Women’s Section: Boyne Babes, Carrick Flashers, Cooke, Enniskillen, Foxy Ladies, Garda, Navan, Old Belvedere
