Ireland Men Rewarded With Podium Finish After Terrific Toulouse Campaign

Wins over South Africa, Argentina and hosts France were the highlights of a superb weekend’s work from the Ireland Men’s Sevens team who finished as runners-up to Fiji in Toulouse.

The historic silver medal from their first ever HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Cup final appearance earned them 19 ranking points, which moves them to fourth in the overall standings with two tournaments remaining.

Terry Kennedy tallied up seven tries as the second top try scorer and DHL Player Impact leader at the Stade Ernest Wallon. He leads the series’ scoring charts with 39 tries – four clear of Australia’s Corey Toole.

James Topping’s men have the HSBC London Sevens to look forward to next weekend. Twickenham Stadium has been a happy hunting ground with bronze won as a invitational side in 2018 and a sixth place finish in 2019.
