Aviva Mini Rugby Festivals To Kick Off In Ashbourne

The Aviva Mini Rugby Festivals kick off on Saturday in Ashbourne Rugby Club with 25 clubs and schools coming from all over Ireland to enjoy a fantastic day of mini rugby.

The festivals happen throughout the year and last season culminated in an amazing day at the Aviva Stadium.

This festival in Ashbourne RFC features a mixture of schools and club sides from all four provinces and is guaranteed to be an exciting day for all.

Mark Russell, Aviva Sponsorship Manager, said: “These festivals are a fantastic opportunity to bring the future of Irish rugby together from all over Ireland.

“Aviva Stadium is home to the Ireland team but it is our grassroots programmes like the Mini Rugby Festivals in clubs around Ireland that are the heart and soul of the sponsorship for us.

“We are really excited to welcome the 25 teams to Ashbourne on what will be a day full of positive energy.”

Hendrik Kruger, IRFU Age Grade Manager, commented: “The ethos of mini rugby is to foster and develop young players of all ability in the game of rugby in a safe, non-competitive and enjoyable environment through activities which ensure progressive skill development for all participants in line with the IRFU LTPD pathway, child welfare policy and the traditions of rugby union.”
