Women’s All-Ireland Cup Draw Announced

The draw for this season’s Women’s All-Ireland Cup competition has been made, with the first round of games kicking off on Sunday, January 13.

Cup holders Railway Union, along with Old Belvedere and UL Bohemians, have a bye into the second round but two of them will square off at that stage in a repeat of last season’s final which saw Railway blast their way past UL Bohs.

Round 1 kicks off with Ballynahinch having home advantage against St. Mary’s, who are currently bottom of the Women’s All-Ireland League but are improving with each game.

Suttonians will be at home to Wayne Kelly’s Cooke side, while Blackrock, who won the All-Ireland Plate title last season, face a trip to Shannon. The winners of the latter game will be pitted against Old Belvedere in round 2 a week later.

The final two fixtures in the opening round are Tralee v Galwegians and Tullow v Malone. All of the losing teams in round 1 will move into the Plate and Shield competitions.
