Following on from the success of dedicated Fanzones at previous finals, the innovative addition of the Dublin 7s tournament will provide fast-paced, end-to-end rugby on both days. Supporters of all ages will find plenty more on offer within the surrounding Fanzone with GUINNESS PRO14 final series partners all providing interactive experiences.

A Tag rugby event will also take place so everyone can be a part of the action. The Sevens competitions categories are: Men’s Open 7s, Women’s Open 7s, Men’s Social 7s and Mixed Tag.

After the winners of the Dublin 7s competitions are crowned, the focus will switch to the main event at the Aviva Stadium where one team will create history and become the first ever GUINNESS PRO14 champions.

A memorable weekend won’t end after the Championship trophy is hoisted into the Dublin air, as a live music event at the Fanzone will provide supporters with the perfect atmosphere to revel in after an amazing day of rugby and fun.

Adam Byrne, the Leinster winger and Ireland 15s and Sevens international, was impressed to see GUINNESS PRO14 Fanzone and the Dublin 7s bring two great events together. “Sevens rugby had a really positive impact on my career and I’m sure there’s a lot of players in the GUINNESS PRO14 who will say that too,” he said. “It’s great to see Sevens continuing to grow and it’s a great idea to bring it to more rugby fans on the weekend of the final.”

Ireland Women’s 15s and Sevens star Katie Fitzhenry is hoping to be a part of the Dublin 7s action with her club sid Blackrock, saying: “Sevens weekends or tournament deciders like the GUINNESS PRO14 final always create special memories for rugby fans and this is going to be the perfect combination.

“You never know what will inspire someone to pick up a rugby ball and having the official Fanzone and the Dublin 7s come together is a great idea. Whether you’re playing or watching, it’s going to be fun weekend.”

Aisling Delaney, Events & Sponsorship Manager for PRO14 Rugby, underscored that the evolution of Championship’s dedicated Fanzone is based on a drive to constantly deliver new innovations. “After the success of our dedicated Fanzones at our previous finals in Edinburgh and Dublin, we know that supporters have high expectations and it’s our job to exceed them,” she explained.

“Bringing the official Guinness PRO14 Fanzone and the Dublin 7s together will create an innovative festival of rugby across two days in the lead-up to Final itself in the Aviva Stadium. Tickets and participation slots are going to prove very popular so I’d encourage everyone to act quickly and visit www.ticketmaster.ie to make sure they’ll can be part of a fantastic event.”
