Seven Steps To San Fran – Episode 1: Dubai

At the end of November both Ireland Sevens squads travelled to Dubai. The Women are on the World Series while the men took part in the International Invitational tournament.

In the opening episode we hear from captains Lucy Mulhall and Billy Dardis, there’s highlights from the games, and we get an insight into travel nutrition and recovery from Allan Temple-Jones (Head of Athletic Performance – Sevens), Marcus Shortall (Performance Nutritionist) and Jo Montgomery (Physiotherapist).

Speaking about the series, IRFU Director of Women’s and Sevens Rugby, Anthony Eddy, said: “This is a really important season for both Sevens programmes. The Women are in their third year on the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series, while the men are aiming to qualify for the World Series next season.

“The Rugby World Cup Sevens is a focal point for both teams and we want to use this opportunity to bring Irish Rugby supporters on the journey with us.”
