#GiveItATry Launched For Women’s And Girls Rugby

The IRFU today launched #GiveItATry, a new series of videos and information on the website for girls and women who are interested in taking up the game of rugby.

Last season, Women’s rugby saw an additional 1,200 adult players try the sport in Ireland, while there was a 40% increase in girls playing mini rugby. In addition, girls youth rugby has increased in both clubs and schools.

The series of #GiveItATry videos, which will be released over the coming weeks, will showcase the different levels of the game that girls and women participate at.

The first video, released today, features Shirelle and Caoimhe who play rugby with Cooke RFC.

The other videos in the series will showcase players at minis and youth level, players on the player pathway and those that have represented Ireland at international level.
