Lacey Takes Charge Of Challenge Cup Final In Lyon

IRFU international referee John Lacey is set to take charge of the European Challenge Cup final between Harlequins and Montpellier tonight at the Grande Stade de Lyon.

John Lacey, who represented Munster, Ireland ‘A’ and the Ireland Sevens team as a player, took up refereeing after retiring from the game in 2007.

Lacey will be joined in Lyon by Peter Fitzgibbon who will be an assistant referee and Dudley Phillips and Andy Brace will be 4th and 5th Officials.
On Saturday, another of the IRFU international referees on the World Rugby panel, George Clancy will be assistant referee to Nigel Owens at the European Champions Cup Final in Lyon. Simon McDowell will also be TMO at that game.
Also on Saturday, the IRFU Junior Interprovincial Championship continues with Jason Cairns taking charge of Ulster versus Leinster and Barry O’Keeffe refereeing Munster against Connacht.
