Ireland Men’s Sevens Squad For Madrid Training Camp

The Ireland Men’s Sevens squad are currently in Madrid at a training camp with the Spanish Sevens side.

The Ireland squad arrived in Madrid on Tuesday and have been training with their Spanish counterparts as they continue preparations for the World Rugby Olympic Repechage tournament that takes place in Monaco on June 18 and 19.

The selected Irish side contains a mix of players from the Ulster Bank League and provincial set-ups.

Lansdowne’s Mark Roche, who will play in the Ulster Bank Club international against Scotland on Friday night, is one of a number of players who travelled to Dubai last November to take part in the Dubai Invitational tournament.

Aaron Cairns, Barry Daly, Dan Goggin, Gearoid Lyons and Steve Toal-Lennon were also in Dubai, as was Terry Kennedy who has played twice for the Ireland Under-20s during this season’s U-20 Six Nations.
