The Connacht Eagles team will welcome pool 5 leaders Doncaster Knights to the Sportsground for round 5 of the British & Irish Cup on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 1pm).
Head coach Nigel Carolan has made nine changes to the Eagles side that travelled to Jersey for the last round four weeks ago. Senior players Darragh Leader, Fionn Carr and Eoin McKeon have all returned from injury to start in Galway on Saturday.
Shane O’Leary is handed the reins at out-half, with the Academy’s Conor Lowndes starting at scrum half. Hooker Shane Delahunt will captain the side from the front row alongside young props Conan O’Donnell and Conor Kenny.
Daniel Qualter is named in the second row with Cillian Gallagher, while Cian Romaine is promoted to the back row where he joins Rory Moloney and the fit-again McKeon.
Commenting on this weekend’s clash with the English Championship outfit, Carolan said: “We performed well against Doncaster when we travelled to play them in November. They are top of what is a tough pool but we will be hoping that we can convert our opportunities into scores on Saturday.”
There is free entry for all Connacht Rugby Season Ticket holders. Under-12s are also free while it is just €;5 for all other tickets available at the gate.
