Sun Shines On Another Successful Aviva Mini Rugby Festival

The Aviva National Mini Rugby Festival rolled into the Aviva Stadium last Saturday with twenty teams of Under-10s, hundreds of kids, coaches and parents and two very special guests – Luke Fitzgerald and the RBS 6 Nations trophy.

The weather even got in on the act as the sun shone down on another fantastic day at the home of Irish rugby. The teams that were chosen to take part were:

Connacht:

Buccaneers, Claremorris and Galway Corinthians

Leinster:

Ashbourne, Balbriggan, Bective Rangers, Greystones and North Kildare

Munster:

Ballina/Killaloe, Highfield, St. Senan’s and Young Munster

Ulster:

Ballymena, Coleraine and Lisburn

Schools:

CBC Cork, St. Cronan’s Rosemount, St. Mary’s College, Pres Bray and Willow Park

Each team got the chance to run out and play on the world famous pitch, get a team photo with Luke Fitzgerald and a tour of the stadium to see where Joe Schmidt and his men normally work. The teams also received special certificates signed by Paul O’Connell, Rory Best and Robbie Henshaw.

The rugby skills on display were excellent and it was great to see five school teams involved in the national festival as well.

A huge thank you to the coaches and parents who volunteer their time so generously to help develop the next generation of Irish rugby players. Check out our action-packed photo gallery of the 2015 Aviva National Mini Rugby Festival.
