TV3 has confirmed it will be the exclusive home of this year’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland. All 48 matches will be shown free-to-air across the station when the tournament kicks off in September, it was announced today at a launch from the Merrion Hotel in Dublin.

At the launch, rugby coaching guru Matt Williams, Ireland’s most-capped scrum half Peter Stringer and ex-England and Lions player Stuart Barnes were announced as part of TV3’s team of analysts joining former Ireland captain Keith Wood.

They will be joined by soon-to-be retired Leinster flanker Shane Jennings, former Ireland international Hugo MacNeill and legendary English World Cup-winning flanker Neil Back.

Irish sports commentator Conor McNamara, former Munster Academy member Murray Kinsella and rugby analyst Liam Toland join Matt Cooper and TV3’s own Sinead Kissane on the broadcaster’s presentation team.

TV3 will broadcast every game of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, beginning with the hosts England taking on Fiji on September 18 and ending with the final at Twickenham on October 31.

Ireland’s campaign starts on September 19 against Canada, before further Pool D matches against Romania and regular Six Nations rivals Italy and France.

TV3 has also confirmed TV3HD will arrive in August on both Sky and UPC in time for the Rugby World Cup.
