IRFU To Showcase Club Game With Aviva Stadium Fixture

The IRFU have confirmed the venues for a host of international representative games during the 2014/15 season, including the Ireland Wolfhounds, Ireland Under-20s and Ireland Women’s team.

In a move aimed at showcasing the talent of the Ulster Bank League, the Club International fixture against their French counterparts will be played at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, February 14, following the RBS 6 Nations game between Ireland and France.

The confirmation of the Ulster Bank Club International fixture at the Aviva Stadium follows the announcement that the Ulster Bank League Division 1A final will also take place at the home of Irish Rugby on May 9, 2015.

IRFU President Louis Magee commented: “Having the Club International against France follow the RBS 6 Nations senior international at the Aviva Stadium is an incredible platform to showcase the talent in our club game.

“The amateur game is the bedrock of our sport and it is fitting that this opportunity is utilised to show how vibrant and exciting club rugby is in Ireland.

“I am delighted that in the 2014/15 season we have two high profile opportunities to celebrate and promote the club game.”

IRELAND WOLFHOUNDS:

The international between Ireland Wolfhounds, sponsored by Three, and England Saxons will take place at Irish Independent Park (formerly Musgrave Park) on Friday, January 30, 2015.
