They play in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League and many of the present and former players have lined out for Munster, Ireland and the British & Irish Lions.

Commenting on this weekend’s event, Kevin O’Dwyer of Marymount Hospice said: “We at Marymount are delighted with the fundraising efforts of Dolphin RFC through the Dolphin Challenge & Family Fun Day.

“Last year the club raised vital money which enables us to continue to offer the very best of care to our patients and this year’s event will be even bigger and better. I encourage all friends of Marymount Hospice to register online and join us for what is sure to be a fantastic family event.”

Speaking on behalf of the Dolphin Challenge committee, Tony Taylor added: “We are looking forward to this year’s event which we hope will raise even more money for Marymount.

“It is open to all friends of Dolphin RFC and Marymount Hospice to participate and we would love to see all present and past rugby players joining in the fun for a great cause.

“All ages and abilities will be catered for so bring the kids and the grandparents for a fun-filled day for a great cause which will kick off at 10.30am. We will have plenty of games and food on site and it is sure to be a great community event.”

Registration is €;30 for the 10km run, €;15 each for the two person relay and €;30 for walkers through the website www.dolphinchallenge.ie.
