Old Crescent Install New Management Team

Old Crescent RFC have moved quickly to put the disappointment of relegation to Ulster Bank League Division 2B behind them by appointing a new senior rugby management team for next season.

Pádraic ‘Paudi’ O’Connor will be the new Chairman of Rugby at Rosbrien and he will be assisted by director of rugby Eugene McGovern, head coach Joe Nix and team manager Shane Landers.

O’Connor brings his proven organisational and leadership skills to the job, and will build on the strong traditions already in place at the Limerick club.

He said: “I am privileged to be given the opportunity to work with this exciting new team of talented and hard-working club members.”

Old Crescent also announced its new Under-20 management team, led by head coach Eugene McGovern and assistant coach Pat Rickard with David O’Malley confirmed as team manager.

Club President Chris Cullinan thanked the previous management teams for their efforts and congratulated the new coaches and managers on their appointments.

He said he was particularly pleased and proud that the new management teams are ‘home-grown’, all being long-time active members and players with Old Crescent.

Cullinan also called on everyone in Old Crescent to give their support to the new coaches in tackling the sporting challenges that lie ahead next season.
