Draw Made For Fraser McMullen Cup

Defending champions Lansdowne will be at home to Buccaneers in the first round of the Fraser McMullen Cup. The opening games in this year’s Under-20 competition take place on Saturday week (March 22).

The draw for the first round of the 2013/14 Fraser McMullen Cup has thrown up four cracking interprovincial ties, with the country’s best Under-20 club players set to battle it out for All-Ireland silverware.

The tournament gets underway on Saturday week (March 22) with defending champions Lansdowne hosting Buccaneers in the capital.

Greystones will make the trip south to Cork Constitution and there is a second game on Leeside as UCC and UCD meet in a mouth-watering student derby.

The Terenure College Under-20s, who recently won the JP Fanagan Premier League, will face Limerick opposition on the day, either UL Bohemians or Bruff, which will be decided by a play-off next Saturday.

The winners of the Terenure v UL Bohemians/Bruff match will have home advantage in the semi-finals, as will whoever comes through the Cork Constitution v Greystones clash.

If teams are tied at full-time in the first round and semi-final matches, there will be extra-time of 10 minutes each way.

The final will be played over the weekend of April 5-6. Recent winners of the highly prized U-20 competition include UCD (2011 and 2012) and Lansdowne (2013).
