RugbyForce Winners take a bow at Aviva Stadium

Representatives from each of the five winning clubs of this year’s Ulster Bank RugbyForce Initiative who each won a support package of ?5,000 were presented on the pitch at half-time of the Guinness Series clash against Australia.

Ulster Bank RugbyForce provides rugby clubs with support to renovate their club and upgrade their facilities. This year five lucky rugby clubs received a support package worth €;5,000, which included a coaching session with two rugby internationals and an IRFU coach.

The five winners selected were Richmond RFC, Limerick, Birr RFC, Offaly, Midleton RFC, Cork, Westport RFC, Mayo and Newry RFC, Down.

Presented to the crowd at the Aviva at the Australia game were Brian Hogan (Birr RFC), Pat McCormack (Westport RFC), Andrew McCarthy (Midleton RFC) Muriel Waters (Richmond RFC) and Liam Lavery (Newry RFC).

Ulster Bank RugbyForce received a record number of 135 entries in 2013. To date, the initiative has provided over €;100,000 worth of much needed support to 163 clubs.

It has also been responsible for a number of local volunteers getting behind their clubs, during the designated Ulster Bank RugbyForce events, to help carry out renovations.

Ulster Bank RugbyForce encourages rugby supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community and rugby club by volunteering to undertake renovations to clubhouses and grounds.

The first 50 clubs who registered for the initiative also received €;250 towards their Ulster Bank RugbyForce event.

The five winning clubs each received:
• Goods and resources up to the value of €;5,000 to go towards the club’s RugbyForce Day
• A training session with an IRFU coach and 2 Irish international players
• A supply of T-shirts for the volunteer workforce
• A signed framed jersey
• Commemorative Ulster Bank RugbyForce Plaque
