Women’s Sevens World Series To Be Streamed Online

The Ireland Women’s Sevens squad will get global exposure when they show off their skills in the upcoming 2013/14 IRB Women’s Sevens World Series.

Ireland fans will be able to follow the fortunes of the girls in green closely with the news that every round of the 2013/14 IRB Women’s Sevens World Series will be streamed online.

Ireland qualified as a core team thanks to their top eight finish at the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow back in June.

The Women’s World Series kicks off in Dubai on Thursday, November 28 and all the action from Pitch 1 in the purpose built 7he Sevens Stadium will be streamed live on wsws.irb.com.

That means that you will be able to watch all three of Ireland’s Pool A encounters direct from Dubai, as Jon Skurr’s squad take on the USA, defending champions New Zealand and Fiji on the opening day.

The Cup quarter-finals will take place on Pitch 1 on Friday, November 29, with the Bowl and Plate play-offs going ahead on Pitch 2.

The Ireland players have been preparing for Dubai with a number of weekend camps and invitational tournaments, including trips to the Netherlands and France.

The Dubai matches will be available across the globe with full access to the stream from all regions and territories.

With less than three weeks to go until kick-off, excitement is building for the Emirates Dubai Rugby Sevens, which played host to the first ever IRB Women’s Sevens World Series event last year.

The Women’s World Series gives teams the rigorous and regular international competition they need to build their programmes, as they countdown towards Rugby Sevens’ Olympic debut in 2016.

“We’re delighted to be able to stream the Women’s Series online this year,” said IRB Sevens General Manger Avan Lee.

“Running alongside the men’s event, the opening round of series in Dubai is an exciting one. There are no restrictions on streaming, and it’s free of charge, so everyone with internet access across the globe will be able to tune in, which helps our overall goal of growing the game and showcasing this wonderful tournament.”

Twelve international sides from across six continents will compete, with New Zealand, England and Canada heading the three pools.
