ULSTER BANK LEAGUE: DIVISION 2A: Saturday, October 26

Kick-off 2.30pm unless stated :

UCC (8^th) v Highfield (14^th), The Mardyke, Friday Night Lights, 19.30

A good old fashioned Cork derby at the Mardyke is always worth watching and this should be no different.

UCC have won one and lost one while visitors Highfield are yet to get a win in the League. Their only consolation is a losing bonus point against Queens on the opening day.

Highfield are certainly better than their current 14^th place and will really target this game on Friday night.

Bruff (16^th) v Bective Rangers (13^th), Kilballyowen Park

Not the best of starts for Bruff having dropped down from Division 2B.

 They have lost their opening two games and could be in for a long season as they fight to regain their status.

A home win this weekend would be most welcome as they host a Bective side who are also winless to date.

Cashel (7^th) v Galwegians (9^th), Spafield

An early mid table clash is always hard to call. Both sides have win and a bonus point to their names so far.

‘Wegians won this tie last season in Galway by 28 – 16 but can they travel to Tipperary and get a result.

It should be an interesting game on Saturday afternoon!

City of Derry (2^nd) v Naas (4^th), Judges Road

One of the candidates for Match of The Day is this clash in Judge’s Road.

City of Derry have made strong statements with their opening two wins, securing a try bonus against Rainey and then picking up an away win at NUIM Barnhall.

Naas have also won their opening two games – against UCC and Cashel – but this is probably a step up again in terms of the challenge.

Old Crescent (12^th) v Rainey Old Boys (10^th), Rosbrien

Evenly matched so far in the league table with one win and one loss each, only Rainey’s try bonus separates them.

The home side recovered from their opening day hammering by Old Wesley to edge out Bruff in the second game.

Rainey have been involved in two 60 plus point games so far and have showed a real willingness to run the ball. That could be decisive come Saturday evening.

 Old Wesley (6^th) v NUIM Barnhall (5^th), Donnybrook

An all Leinster affair with both sides looking to get back on track having lost their last game.

The Donnybrook side were beaten by 20 points in Galwegians while NUIM Barnhall picked up a losing bonus point at home to City of Derry.

Saturday should give both clubs a good idea of where they stand for the season ahead.

Queens (3^rd) v Ballymena (1^st), Dub Lane

This is definitely the Match of the Day and promises to be an absolute cracker of a game.

Third plays first, an Ulster Derby, An ambitious student side and a team determined to bounce back up to Division 1B.

All the ingredients are there then. Not to be missed and a potential try fest on the menu for spectators.

Seapoint (11^th) v Banbridge (15^th), Kilbogget Park

Seapoint face Ulster opposition for a second week in a row having lost to Rainey Old Boys in a 45 – 33 thriller last time out.

At home in Kilbogget Park they will fancy their chances of getting the win.

It won’t be easy though as Banbridge travel in search of their first win of the season.
