Clubs Race To Sign Up For ‘Your Club, Your Country’ Draw
One million euro target in reach as clubs get behind fundraising club draw. The IRFU has received a hugely positive response to date to the 2013 ‘Your Club, Your County’ grand prize draw initiative as clubs around the country have raced to sign up to the fundraising scheme.
Last year, the Ulster Bank-backed initiative raised over €;715,000 (€;660,000 in 2011) for clubs around the country and with over 100 clubs already signed up for the 2013 edition with seven weeks left to go, the IRFU is hopeful that the scheme will raise €;1,000,000 for clubs this year.
The 2013 prize fund is valued at €;25,000 and the IRFU is investing €;30,000 to provide the fundraising initiative to the clubs.
The IRFU and its partners supply the prizes for the ‘Your Club, Your Country’ grand prize draw which allows clubs to sell up to 1,000 tickets at €;10 per ticket and retain 100% of the revenue from tickets sales.
The fundraising competition is open to all eligible rugby clubs in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Grand prize draw packs are being sent this week to clubs who have registered for the scheme. Prizes for the ‘Your Club, Your Country’ grand prize draw include a VIP trip to Argentina for Ireland’s summer tour, VIP trips to the Stade de France and Twickenham for Ireland’s 2014 away RBS 6 Nations matches as well as a host of other prizes linked to the national team.
Pat Fitzgerald, President of the IRFU, commented: “Last year with the support of our valued sponsors and partners over €;715,000 was raised for eligible rugby clubs throughout Ireland.
“The clubs see the benefit of the ‘Your Club, Your Country’ grand prize draw and we are hopeful that we will reach the €;1,000,000 mark this year.”
Clubs can still register for the ‘Your Club, Your Country’ grand prize draw by contacting the IRFU. The draw will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 and will be broadcast on Irish Rugby TV on www.irishrugby.ie.

TO BECOME A PARTICIPATING CLUB:
• Complete the registration of participation form and return to Christina Smyth, Commercial and Marketing Department, IRFU, PO Box 11430, Dublin 15.
• By completing and submitting the form you are agreeing in full to the terms and conditions of the draw (see reverse). A full list of terms and conditions will also be available on www.irishrugby.ie
• Upon receipt of the form, each club will then be sent their grand prize draw pack. This includes 1000 tickets with a value of €;10 per ticket, a completion form and promotional posters.
• Grand prize draw packs will be sent from Monday, October 7, 2013. THESE WILL BE DELIVERED BY POST ONLY AND ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION.
• All sold ticket counterfoils and unsold tickets must be returned before 5pm on Monday, November 25, 2013 in order to be included in the IRFU’s ‘Your Club, Your Country’ grand prize draw. The completion form must accompany all returned tickets. Return postal address as per above.
• The draw will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 and can be viewed on Irish Rugby TV on www.irishrugby.ie.
