IRFU Beach Tag Postcard From Strandhill

IRFU Beach Tag Postcard From Strandhill

The 2013 IRFU Beach Tag season got underway in style as Culleenamore Beach at Strandhill welcomed tag teams from all over to its shores.

On a sunny Saturday, as the music filled the air, the captains’ briefing got underway at Culleenamore Beach after midday with the referees having their pre-games meeting soon after.

Games kicked off at 1pm and the beach season got underway with the very clear signal from the hooter.
Each pitch in place delivered the kind of games that were to be expected, all played with fun in mind, exemplifying the spirit of IRFU Beach Tag rugby.

What a day it was but was it all over after final fulltime hooter blew? Not in the slightest. In the true tradition of IRFU Beach Tag rugby being the quintessential ‘Game of Two Halves‘, everyone met up back at Sligo RFC where a truly great night was had by all.

Many congratulations and thanks to all the players no matter if they won a trophy or not.
