Castlebar Becomes Newest IRFU Volkswagen Tag Club

IRFU Volkswagen Tag returns to Co.Mayo as Castlebar RFC become the latest club to join the distinguished list of host venues in 2013

The IRFU are pleased to announce Castlebar RFC becoming an IRFU Volkswagen Tag venue this Summer. From June, the club will host mixed leagues over 10 weeks, on Thursday nights. For what works out to around €;3 per week for a player to play, the IRFU tag leagues offer not only quality venues, officiating and facilities but also great value in an hugely popular non-contact version of rugby.

This is a very exciting addition to the list of host clubs in Connacht, a province where tag already thrives at Galway Corinthians, Sligo RFC and NUI Galway. Corinthians, for example, is the largest tag venue in Ireland with a massive 72 mixed teams every week during the summer.

For teams registering at all IRFU Volkswagen Tag venues, there are exclusive prizes to be won, including days out at the Aviva Stadium to see Ireland play (Guinness Series internationals vs Samoa, Australia and New Zealand in November) then attending the official IRFU Team Reception afterwards.

By entering details of 10 or more players when registering your team online to play this season’s Spring or Summer leagues, the chance for somebody from your team being drawn will of course increase.

To sign up a team, visit the Registration section of www.irfutag.ie. Follow ‘IRFU Tag’ on Facebook, Twitter (@irfurugby) for news.
