GUINNESS Series Kick-Off Times Confirmed

Saturday nights will be rocking at the Aviva Stadium during November with the confirmation that both the Samoa and Australia matches in the 2013 GUINNESS Series have been given prime time Saturday evening kick-offs.

The Samoans’ visit to the home of Irish rugby will be their first since 2010 – the Ireland v Samoa Test will kick off at 5.45pm under floodlights.

Samoa have risen to seventh in the IRB World Rankings and given their victory over RBS 6 Nations champions Wales last November, it promises to be an exciting start to the GUINNESS Series.

Australia will be the next visitors to Dublin, fresh from their summer clashes with the British & Irish Lions, with that game also having a 5.45pm kick-off.

This will be the first time the Wallabies have played Ireland since that memorable 2011 Rugby World Cup meeting, which resulted in a 15-9 win for Ireland.

World champions New Zealand will complete Ireland’s line-up of international matches during November with a Sunday afternoon kick off at 2pm, ensuring an enthralling GUINNESS Series from start to finish.

Ticket prices and packages will be announced in the coming weeks and will include a priority sale for members of the Irish Rugby Supporters Club.

Plans are also in place to create a carnival atmosphere at the Aviva Stadium with music, street performers and fireworks as part of the IRFU ‘Green Zone’ to make the GUINNESS Series go off with bang during November.

IRFU Commercial and Marketing Director Padraig Power said: “The GUINNESS Series has taken on a character all of its own in recent years, with world class opposition and a great evening out kicking off in the popular Green Zone entertainment areas on approach to the Aviva.

“Ticket prices for the 2013 GUINNESS Series will be confirmed in the coming weeks, but with evening kick-offs against Samoa and Australia as well as the visit of World champions New Zealand, it promises to be an exciting month for the Ireland team and its supporters.”

Rory Sheridan, Head of Sponsorship for Diageo, Western Europe, commented: “The 2013 GUINNESS Series promises to be a highly entertaining three games, which will no doubt create massive excitement amongst Irish rugby fans.

“GUINNESS continues to be a proud sponsor of Irish rugby and we look forward to getting behind the side again in November.”
