Leinster Prepare For Scarlets Challenge

The Leinster squad completed their first on-field training session of the week in UCD today as they prepare for the visit of the Scarlets to the RDS next Saturday (kick-off 7.45pm).

There are no major injury concerns for the Leinster management arising from last Saturday’s bonus point victory over Benetton Treviso.

Centre Andrew Goodman, who was replaced as a precaution after sustaining a bang to the eye late on in the 40-5 win, is set to take a full part in training.

Academy second row Ben Marshall (knee) is also expected to be in the frame after featuring in the last two fixtures.

Kevin McLaughlin (knee) is a doubt, while Isa Nacewa will continue to be monitored as he recovers from the recurrence of an arm injury which has restricted him recently.

Centre Brendan Macken should also come back into the mix after missing out last weekend with a minor hamstring niggle.

Shane Jennings missed the Treviso match after failing to fully recover from a shoulder knock, but the Ireland flanker is expected to resume full training and be available for selection.

Dominic Ryan’s hat-trick of tries capped a fine weekend for Leinster’s home-grown back rowers, with Jordi Murphy impressing in his 13th outing of the campaign and Rhys Ruddock celebrating his 50th Leinster cap by leading the province to a fine victory.

Tickets sales for Saturday’s Leinster v Scarlets game have passed the 14,700 mark. Tickets are available to buy online here and also from the Leinster Rugby Store (Donnybrook), Spar (Donnybrook) and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
