Ulster Bank League Climax Live On RTE TV

The climax of Division 1A in the Ulster Bank League will be shown live on RTE Two this Saturday and streamed worldwide on www.rte.ie. St. Mary’s College host Young Munster as they chase the coveted club title for the second time, while Clontarf face Lansdowne on the main pitch at the Aviva Stadium, hoping to capitalise on any slip up at Templeville Road.

The much-anticipated meeting of St. Mary’s College and Young Munster will be broadcast live on RTÉ Two, with a 2.35 kick-off time. It will also be streamed live worldwide on www.rte.ie.

There will be regular updates too from the Aviva Stadium where second-placed Clontarf will be fighting to keep their challenge alive on the final day of the league season.

RTÉ will also have live coverage of the Ulster Bank Bateman Cup on Saturday, April 28 as Ballymena and Garryowen contest one of the most venerable trophies in club rugby at Templeville Road, ahead Ulster’s Heineken Cup semi-final later that day.

The streaming of live games on the IRFU’s own channel Irish Rugby TV has been a huge success and has attracted siginifcant viewing figures from overseas as club alumni tune in.

The historic first club match on the main pitch at the Aviva Stadium between Lansdowne and Old Belvedere was streamed live at the start of the season, with viewers from as far afield as New Zealand and California tuning.

The Ulster Bank Junior Cup final between Tullamore and Monivea was a big hit with the Monivea contingent in Australia.

Now the climax of the Ulster Bank League will be shown not just on national television, but to Irish viewers around the world on www.rte.ie.

Last weekend’s televised clash between Clontarf and St. Mary’s proved a great advert for the Ulster Bank League and the two games this weekend which will decide the destination of the 2011/12 champions tag should prove no different.
