Speakers include members of the IRFU and provincial medical teams as well as world renowned international presenters such as Dr. Tim Gabbett (Australia), Dr. John Brooks (UK), Dr Martin Raftery (Australia) and Dr. Tim Hewett (USA).

Speaking ahead of the event, IRFU Medical Director and conference co-chair, Dr. Conor McCarthy, said: “The IRFU Sports Medicine Conference is an innovative new approach.

“We have a wealth of highly experienced medical people within the IRFU and the provincial branches and pooling their knowledge for the conference is a really good idea.

“Add to that the overseas experts and it builds into one of the most exciting initiatives in Sports and Exercise medicine in Ireland this year.”

Commenting on the programme, conference co-chair, Dr. Garrett Coughlan (IRFU), said: “We have an excellent programme of satellite events around the main conference with internationally recognised experts in their field. There is also a large sponsor exhibition and interactive workshops for delegates.

“There is even a tour of the Aviva Stadium medical facilities and changing rooms so there is something for everyone. We expect demand for all of the events to be high..”
