Curracloe Beach saw the return of IRFU Beach Tag as Tag teams from all over gathered in Wexford for the weekend. The famous Blue Flag strand was alive with the buzz of Tag games taking place all day.

It was during the weekend that the actual Sunny South East could be located and narrowed down to a 300-metre stretch of Wexford coastline.

While, what seemed like, the rest of Ireland was getting a soaking of summer showers, the teams at Curracloe Beach enjoyed a glorious day of IRFU Tag.

Players plus their entourages set up camp for the day on the dunesides as they made the most of the day out in the sun. The playing-field is well and truly levelled out on this surface of very fine white sand, making the emphasis on fun far more apparent.

Following the four group stages, the teams went into playoffs for the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Spoon with some lively games to remember and trophies not just for the winners but Best Dressed and Team of the Day.

Next up, the second-half of the day and just as important: the Post-Match Party where T.Morris Bar in Wexford town was the host for some BBQ, tunes and a pint with the banter. A great atmosphere at a great location with great teams. Already next year being planned by some.

We would like to thank those who contributed to yet another great IRFU Tag event as well as the many fun-loving players who took part. In particular, the players, our great referees, and all at T.Morris Bar deserve a special mention.

Everyone had a massive part to play in the success of this very memorable day and it is because of these people, that the atmosphere at these events is so special.
