Leinster Launch New Home And Away Kits

Reigning Heineken Cup champions Leinster have launched their revolutionary new home and away jerseys for the upcoming 2011/12 season.

Leo Cullen, Sean O’Brien and Eoin Reddan were on hand to meet the media at the National Convention Centre in Dublin on Monday afternoon and posed for photographs on the iconic Samuel Beckett Bridge.

The shirts, which incorporate the traditional Leinster province symbol of the harp for the first time, feature the new Loop 21 collar design and latest fabric technology, providing Leinster with the best possible on-field support and making it the strongest jersey that Canterbury have ever produced.

Throughout months of research and development, the Loop 21 neckline was tested to destruction by Progressive Sports Technologies (a leading independent sports research and development company) to ensure maximum strength and adversity.

Advancements in temex and the use of LYCRA® SPORT fabric provide improved sweat evaporation, enhanced freedom of movement and superior shape retention.

Chris Stephenson, Canterbury CEO, commented: “The new kit is our most sophisticated to date and as always, we have relished the challenge to release a tougher yet lighter jersey that will be showcased this year.

“As Heineken Cup champions, it is our privilege to support them in the best way we can, with what we believe is the best jersey a player can wear.”

Leinster Rugby CEO Michael Dawson added: “We are delighted to launch our new home and away jerseys for the coming campaign.

“We believe that the state-of-the-art jersey, which also sees a return to the traditional royal blue colour for the home jersey, will be popular amongst the supporters.”

As supporters get their opportunity to purchase the new home jersey from all selected retailers from today, the alternate jersey will be available from July 30.
