The IRFU and Munster Rugby are delighted to announce that the second annual Fitness Seminar will be held in Charleville in Cork on Monday, March 14.

This workshop will be aimed at rugby coaches working at all levels. The seminar will be held in the Charleville Park Hotel in Cork. Last year’s seminar was very successful and was attended by over 100 coaches.

This year more presenters and different topics have been added to the line-up. The topics that will be covered are as follows:

Google Ad Manager – 300×250 – In Article

‘How to Develop Speed in our Players’
Presenter – Des Ryan (IRFU fitness education manager)

‘Metabolic Conditioning for our Players’

‘Core Training Methods’
Presenter – Ross Callaghan (Munster Rugby NTP fitness coach)

‘Practical Planning and Periodisation for Club and School Coaches’

The seminar will be both theory and practical-based, using some of the young players from Munster Rugby as subjects and anyone who is willing to give it a go.

The seminar will be of great use to coaches who would like to know what is the most appropriate and practical method to develop their players.

The IRFU Fitness Seminar is ideal for coaches who would like to introduce something new and challenging to their training. The seminar is open to any coaches, especially from Munster and the sounding area.

Similar workshops will be run in the Connacht, Leinster and Ulster areas. Information on these workshops and others during the year will be found on the IRFU website and the provincial websites as soon as details are available.
