Galwegians RFC have announced that COLD CHON have come on board as the club’s new main sponsors for the 2010/11 season.
Based in Oranmore, County Galway, COLD CHON is one the leading companies in the construction sector, manufacturing a range of cationic bitumen emulsions and macadam binders, which are used in road surfacing throughout Ireland.
Speaking at the announcement at Galwegians RFC’s home ground of Crowley Park, COLD CHON Chief Executive Officer John Killeen said: “We are delighted to be able to support Galwegians, who are one of the leading sporting brands in our city.
“COLD CHON have a long-standing relationship with this club, who play a very important role in serving the needs of the local community, and we wish them every success for the season ahead.”
President of Galwegians RFC, Derrick Murphy, also welcomed the announcement, saying: “Clubs are the bedrock of Irish rugby, but without the support and goodwill of our sponsors we simply cannot survive.”
Presenting a specially framed club jersey to the new sponsors, he added: “Galwegians are enormously grateful to COLD CHON for their support, and indeed we are proud to be associated with a quality organisation whose deep roots and commitment to the local Galway community are well known.”
Galwegians could claim silverware on Saturday when they meet local rivals Corinthians in the Connacht Senior Cup final at Crowley Park (kick-off 2.30pm).
