Women’s All-Ireland League Previews

The Women’s All-Ireland League kicks back into gear this weekend after a break for the Interprovincial Championship, which unfortunately fell victim to the weather. This could be another important factor this weekend, so check with your local club to make sure the match is not affected.

In Division 1 of the Women’s All-Ireland League, UL Bohemians are out in front, with Highfield and Old Belvedere chasing hard.

Division 2 North sees Navan ahead of City of Derry and Longford, while, in Division 2 South, Tralee and Shannon are setting the pace.

A couple of big games at Crowley Park and Woodleigh Park, but our match of the day is that age-old rivalry between Old Belvedere and Blackrock at Anglesea Road.

‘Rock are struggling in sixth place with two wins in five games, while the ‘Belvo girls are sitting in third and should be favourites for the win.

Highfield (2nd) v Cooke (5th), Woodleigh Park

Old Belvedere (3rd) v Blackrock (6th), Anglesea Road

Division 2 North –

Navan’s impressive haul of four try-scoring bonus points means that Malahide look set to be in for a tough day in Co. Meath on Sunday, while the match of the day in 2N is the mid-table clash of Dublin University and Belfast Harlequins at College Park.

With City of Derry not in action until next month, Longford could steal second spot for Christmas.

Longford (3rd) v Enniskillen (10th), Longford

Navan (1st) v Malahide (8th), Balreask Old

Division 2 South –

A win for Shannon will put them into top spot for the Christmas break, while Nenagh Ormond will hope to pull clear of the chasing pack when they travel to Laois.

Portlaoise (6th) v Nenagh Ormond (3rd), Portlaoise
