That Croke Park clash marked Declan Kidney’s third match in charge of Ireland and the 17-3 win that day was a crucial one as it secured Ireland’s second tier seeding for the 2011 Rugby World Cup draw.

A late try from winger Tommy Bowe copperfastened the 14-point victory two years ago, with out-half Ronan O’Gara kicking the rest of Ireland’s points.

Today’s match is the 12th Test meeting of Ireland and Argentina. Ireland have never lost to the Pumas on home soil, but did suffer three defeats to them in 2007.

They lost two summer tour games in Sante Fe and Buenos Aires, and also fell to a 30-15 loss in Pool D at the World Cup in France.

With the RBS 6 Nations and the next World Cup looming large on the horizon, Brian O’Driscoll and his team-mates will want to finish the GUINNESS Series on a winning note and lay down a marker for 2011.

We will have live text commentary direct from the Aviva Stadium as Ireland bid for their second victory in this year’s GUINNESS Series.

So plug in the laptop or turn on the PC and enjoy a flavour of the game live on IrishRugby.ie with thanks to O2, sponsors of MatchDay Live.

There will be full live text and score updates throughout the coverage as the men in green take on an Argentinian side led by former Leinster out-half Felipe Contepomi.
