Earls Takes Bench Spot

Earls Takes Bench Spot

Following the Ireland squad’s training session this afternoon at the Aviva Stadium, the management confirmed that Keith Earls will wear the number 22 jersey for Saturday’s Test match against South Africa.

Keith Earls, who has successfully recovered from an ankle injury, took a full part in Thursday’s training session.

He will take his place on the bench for this weekend’s historic first rugby international at the Aviva Stadium, getting the nod over Ulster’s Andrew Trimble and Paddy Wallace.

It will be the Limerick youngster’s 11th senior appearance for Ireland if he is involved.

A groin injury kept Earls out of the recent summer tour to New Zealand and Australia, but he enjoyed an impressive RBS 6 Nations campaign, earlier this year, with three tries in five games.
