Tag Season Ends In Style At Curracloe
As the Beach Tag games got underway amidst the music, the sound of the starter hooter and referee whistles, beachgoers at Curracloe Beach took to the Stands (well, dunes actually) to watch teams compete in the first ever Bud Light Beach Tag event in this wonderful part of a quite literally Sunny South East coast.
What a way and what a location to wave farewell to the 2010 tag season. With as many spectators as players, the atmosphere was the fine essence of summer throughout the day with 23 teams contesting for the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Spoon trophies.
The fine sand played its part in levelling each league’s teams to similar ability. It was quite a sight to see any open linebreakers with a whole pitch in front of them holding up and waiting for support. Energy conservation or just good honest teamwork…we’ll let you the spectator be the judge of that.
To top off this great day, the presentation of the trophies and some post-match refreshments took place at Enniscorthy RFC, an ever-expanding Bud Light Tag venue.
We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to yet another great Bud Light Tag beach event as well as the many fun-loving players who took part. In particular, all of our great referees, Dave Ryan and all at Enniscorthy RFC deserve a special mention.
Everyone had a massive part to play in the success of this very memorable day.
