The Official Leinster Supporters Club’s Table Quiz, which took place in the Horse Show House on Thursday, was a resounding success as it raised over 1500 euro for the IRFU Charitable Trust’s Injured Players Fund.
The OLSC gathering enjoyed an entertaining night at the hands of Shane Byrne, who performed the duties of quiz master.
The former Leinster, Ireland and Lions hooker was in fine form and had participants in stitches throughout the night.
There was a fantastic turnout for the event with more than 20 teams taking part. The eventual winners were ‘Three Southsiders and a Token’, otherwise known as Neil O’Connor, Ger Casey, Ger Casey Snr and Lesa Tran.
They each won six bottles of wine, a year’s subscription to the Irish Rugby Supporters Club along with an IRFU hoodie and polo and a personalised Leinster rugby ball signed by Shane.
Second placed team, ‘The Thora Hird All Stars’ – Arlene Carpenter, Brian Carpenter, Stuart Findlay and Peter Began – won three bottles of wine, an OLSC goodie bag and two CDs each.
The third-placed ‘Swirvin’ Girvans’ each won two bottles of wine and 2 CDs.
Massive thanks are due to the OLSC’s sponsors on the night: Leinster Rugby, the IRFU, SimplyWines.ie, Irish Distillers, the Leinster Store and the Horse Show House, and of course to Shane Byrne.
